A 24-year-old man from Hertfordshire has been charged with criminal damage for damaging lights on the Farleigh Hospice Christmas tree outside the Meadows Shopping Centre in Chelmsford on Saturday.
Jack Pattinson, from Hamilton Road in Kings Langley, Hertfordshire, is due to appear before Chelmsford Magistrates on January 21.
Two men were arrested by Essex Police following the incident and taken to Chelmsford Police Station for questioning.
